Telehealth Therapy with Cue Counseling
At Cue Counseling, we offer telehealth therapy to meet the evolving needs of today’s busy, modern world. Also known as e-therapy or online counseling, telehealth allows you to receive high-quality mental health care from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
All sessions are conducted through our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform within Cue Counseling’s private client portal, ensuring confidentiality and convenience.
Our decision to offer telehealth is intentional — it reflects our commitment to accessible, flexible, and client-centered care that fits your life, not the other way around.
Is Telehealth Counseling Right for You?
Telehealth therapy offers more than just convenience — it removes common barriers to getting the support you need. Whether you’re juggling a busy schedule or managing unique life circumstances, online counseling provides flexible, safe, and private care wherever you are.
Just a Few Reasons Telehealth May Be a Great Fit:
-
Convenience – Schedule sessions during breaks, evenings, or even your lunch hour
-
Transportation challenges – No need to worry about transit, gas costs, or car reliability
-
Caregiver responsibilities – Easily balance therapy while caring for children, elders, or partners
-
Accessibility – Ideal for those with physical disabilities, chronic illness, or mental health limitations
-
Extreme weather – Avoid traveling in unsafe conditions like heat waves or storms
-
Work/life balance – Fit sessions between work, school drop-offs, or evening commitments
-
Comfort – Join your session in a cozy space — even in slippers, with your pet by your side
-
Privacy – No waiting rooms, no chance encounters, total discretion
-
Safety – A secure option for those navigating intimate partner violence or other safety concerns
Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout, or relationship challenges, telehealth counseling provides effective, confidential care on your terms.
When Telehealth Counseling May Not Be Appropriate
While telehealth counseling offers flexibility and accessibility, there are certain situations where in-person care may be more suitable for safety, stability, and clinical effectiveness.
Telehealth may not be recommended for:
-
Complex mental health conditions – Including active psychosis, visual or auditory hallucinations, or other severe psychiatric symptoms
-
Active substance use – Individuals currently struggling with substance dependency or erratic behavior may benefit more from in-person or intensive treatment
-
Recent suicidal or homicidal thoughts – If you or someone you know is in crisis, immediate in-person intervention is strongly advised
-
Minors under 18 years old – Children and teens may require specialized in-person services, depending on developmental needs and legal considerations
-
Poor internet connection – A stable, private internet connection is necessary for confidentiality and therapeutic effectiveness
If you’re unsure whether telehealth is right for you, please reach out — we’ll guide you toward the safest, most supportive care path available.
Why Choose Telehealth Counseling?
At Cue Counseling, we’re committed to delivering exceptional care in the format that works best for you. Telehealth counseling allows us to bring therapy to you — in a space that feels safe, familiar, and convenient.
By shifting the therapy experience into a portable, private, and accessible environment, clients often feel more relaxed and open. This comfort can lead to deeper conversations, greater emotional insight, and ultimately, more effective therapy.
Many of our clients report that telehealth helps them:
-
Feel more at ease and less rushed
-
Experience lower stress levels before and after sessions
-
Open up more quickly, leading to faster progress in therapy
Whether you’re at home, in your car, or on a break at work, teletherapy makes consistent support easier to maintain — helping you stay connected to your mental health goals, no matter what life brings.
Florida Telehealth Law
We follow all legal and ethical guidelines to ensure your telehealth sessions are safe, secure, and compliant.
Under Florida Telehealth Law (Chapter 2019-137; Section 456.47, F.S.), licensed healthcare providers may deliver services using telecommunication technology as long as the care meets the same standards as in-person treatment.
This law allows Florida-licensed therapists to:
-
Provide care to clients remotely within the state
-
Maintain client confidentiality through secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms
-
Offer the same quality of service via virtual sessions as in-person appointments
At Cue Counseling, we take these standards seriously to ensure that your telehealth experience is both lawful and clinically effective.
Evidence-Based Snapshot: Is Online Therapy Effective?
At Cue Counseling, we understand that choosing a therapy format is a personal and important decision. That’s why we value transparency and support our services with credible, peer-reviewed research.
Multiple studies confirm that online therapy — especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — can be just as effective as in-person sessions for many mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and stress management.
While we cannot list every article, here are a few well-regarded academic sources supporting the efficacy of telehealth counseling:
-
Ruwaard et al. (2012) – The Effectiveness of Online Cognitive Behavioral Treatment in Routine Clinical Practice. PLoS ONE, 7(7): e40089.
-
Kemmeren et al. (2016) – Effectiveness of blended depression treatment for adults in specialized mental healthcare: A randomized controlled trial protocol. BMC Psychiatry, 16, 113.
-
Wentzel et al. (2016) – Mixing online and face-to-face therapy: How to benefit from blended care in mental health care. JMIR Mental Health, 3(1).
These studies highlight how blended and fully virtual therapy approaches can offer significant benefits for clients seeking convenience, consistency, and emotional wellness.
